It is suggested that all groups visiting the museum book in advance to get the most out of their visit.

Catering

As the Tea Room is run as a private family business with limited space, we recommend that you pre-book your catering.

Disabled Access/Facilities

Our Museum Assistants at Cyfarthfa Castle will be happy to open the disabled access for your group, and will draw your attention to the chair lift and disabled toilets.

Parking

Free coach parking is available. Directions are provided on receipt of your booking.

Charges

Admission during normal opening hours is free of charge.

Guided tours (for groups of less than 25) or seated illustrated talks (for groups of 25 plus) are available although a fee is charged. £30.00. Please contact us for details.

Evening visits can also be arranged, but a fee to cover staffing, lighting etc. is charged (please contact us for details).

Participation in 'special events' may also be charged.

Guided tours or off-site talks are £60.00

We now offer Audio Tour guides £1.50 per Adult/£1.00 for concessions.

How to Make a Booking

Please contact the Museum by telephone/fax (01685 727371) to make your booking. Confirmation will then be sent to you. Alternatively send us an email to museum@merthyr.gov.uk.
