Stargazing

On a clear night, Pontsticill reservoir is popular with stargazers.

 

 Whether you have a telescope or not, you’ll have an excellent view of the night sky, and there are plenty of places to park along the banks of the reservoir.

 

After a short while, your eyes will adjust to the darkness and you’ll be amazed at the hundreds of stars you can see. Use a basic star map for guidance, or join a stargazing session at the nearby Libanus Mountain Centre.
